Performing Cable Length Tests

The Cable Length test finds and displays measurements

for each pair in feet or meters using the cable capacitance

method. The test measures the length of a cable by

measuring its capacitance and using the capacitance per

unit length (length constant) to calculate the length.

To perform a cable length test

1 Connect the cable to the LanScaperPRO. (The other

end may be connected to a remote.)

2 Access the Cable Test Menu. (See “Accessing the

Cable Test Menu” on page 41.)

3 Scroll through the menu options using the arrow keys

until Cable Length is highlighted.

4 Press the SEL key.

The pre-test Cable Length screen appears.

5 (Optional) Use the SEL key to change the length

display between feet and meters.
